You never know when you're going to need a flashlight, so no vehicle should be without one.  If you have to pick just one, it has to be a Mag-Lite.  It's no coincidence most law enforcement agencies use them.  They're reliable, tough and make a fine club...ahem, I mean FLASHLIGHT.  They make a fine flashlight.

I picked up a 4 "D" cell Mag-lite off ebay for a reasonable price.  Now, how to secure it?  Mag-lite sells plastic clips for the job but they're notorious for breaking easily.  I found a bracket that was machined out of solid billet aluminum specifically for Mag-lites.  It clamps the barrel tight by way of a knob with plastic threads.

I have heard of some people mounting a mag-lite in front of the driver or passenger seat, or even mounting right onto the rear lip of a husky liner (eliminates drilling into the chassis).  I however, went with the most popular place.  Between the driver's seat and the door.  This spot seems perfect because it's out of the way yet within reach.
